Åse Mathiesen - piano

Åse Mathiesen studied in Stockholm with professor Staffan Scheja and later in Oslo with professor Jiri Hlinka at Barratt-Due Musikkinstitutt. While studying at Barratt-Due Musikkinstitutt, Åse Mathiesen played her first concert in Oslo Concert Hall. Since then Åse performs in recitals and concerts across the Nordic countries and Europe. She has a wide repertoar and shows a big interest in the classic and romantic composers, as well as in the less known music which is at risk of being forgotten. Åse Mathiesen is an active chamber musician, collaborating with renowned members of the Nordic music scene. She is frequently performing in prominent venues. Åse is also participating in several concert projects supported by the Arts Council Norway. She is a member of Solistene– The Norwegian Opera soloists.
