Fjord Norway Stavanger

Guided bike tour, Swords in Rock

Overview

Provider: Rogaland Aktiv. The guide will meet you outside the Stavanger trainstation at 10. From the Stavanger city centre, we will be heading towards the beautiful Mosvatnet lake. Along the lake, you will experience rich bird life and nice surroundings. Can you imagine that it lives 143 different birds around the water?

When arriving at the three swords in rock (Sverd i fjell) at Møllebukta bay, we will spend plenty of time walking around taking photos. You will probably see a lot of birds, as well as white swans and ducks. We would recommend to bring some money for snacks at the snack and icecream bar located here; Is Paradis. They have tasty dishes, whether you want a burger or a sweet pastery.

We continue the trip along the famous Hafrsfjord. It was here King Harald Hårfagre fought a battle that united Norway into one kingdom in 872 AD. Let the guide tell you the whole story.

We will leave the fjord just before the Hafrsfjord brigde and cross over to another lake, the very nice Stokkavatnet lake. The hiking trail around the water, 8 km, is very popular for runners, but also for those who just want to spend some time walking. The last leg towards the Stavanger city centre goes along interesting architecture, including some famous sites such as Ledaal, the royal residence in Stavanger. To finish off, there will be a visit to Old Stavanger (Gamle Stavanger).  Facts about the tour Duration: 2 1/2 hours, 18 km
