Hammer race Stavanger - a new format!
Hammer is an innovative new fomat developed by Velon and the international sports' marketing company, Infron Sports & Media. Organised by Tour des fjords AS under the Hammer series concept, the Stavanger event is part of a global race series that will name the world's best bike team every year. Hammer Stavanger will attract a minimum of 10 UCI World Tour teams, where at least five of these participate in the Tour des fjords. This will bring a new dimension to the professional environment of cycling in Norway.
The Hammer concept consists of three different competitions that makes it even more intense and public friendly.
Friday May 25, 2018: Hammer CLIMB:
The first leg consists of a 8,5 km race that the bikers race 10 times. The race starts in Sandnes, and goes to the top of Skaarlia.
Saturday, May 26, 2018: Hammer SPRINT
The sprint leg on day 2 consists of an action packed 10-km race through Stavanger city centre and Eiganes. Here, the teams will get points every time they pass the finish line at the Stavanger Forum Expo area. This leg will also be raced 10 times, so the audience has a lot to look forward to.
Sunday, May 27, 2018: Hammer CHASE
The last and deciding competition is a team speed chase. The leg starts and finishes at the Stavanger Forum, and runs pass Hafrsfjord and Gandsfjord to mention some of the places.
