In Hello, we meet three young dancers with roots in different cultures. These are three dancers presenting each their own real story on stage. Stories about finding one's identity and feeling of belonging. Together, their stories have become a strong, tough and vulnerable dance performance with a mix of hip hop, breakdance, texts and film.
Abir and her family fled from the Yemen. In her culture, girls are not supposed to stand up for themselves, and certainly not dance. But it is the dancing that has given this shy, quiet girl the courage to make her own choices. She has found her voice through dance.
Bao grew up in Norway with a Norwegian mother and a Vietnamese father, and one foot in each culture. That can make it difficult to find yourself. Dance was a natural way for Bao to communicate. Through it, he has found a place to belong.
Miko fled from Eritrea and was a refugee for several months before coming to Norway. A young boy with a powerful story. Through dance, he has built a life in Norway.
