Herøyspelet - in a whole new edition
This year's play "King's Ring" invites you to a whole new game.
For the first time since the start in 1992, the play has a new director. Jeff Pedersen has directed several other historical plays, and he is now embarking on the job of further developing "King's Ring".
But the old story is at the bottom. Chieftain daughter Unn, the choice between the fiancé her parents have chosen for her and the rebel she is in love with and the choice between old and new believe.
The specially written music, the great orchestra and the great outdoor scene are the same - and the view of the city ocean.
We will meet Olav the saint and his shepherd, ravages and heroes. Around 200 in the century, young and old, amateurs and professionals, musicians, songwriters and actors.
With the ticket you also get a boat ride or bus to the island of Herøy. In the yard of the trading town from the 19th century there is a gambling cafe. Now Herøyspelet also offers a Vikingcamp with family activities such as willow and bow, martial arts and large peasant shack.
The King's Ring hosted four times during the first weekend of July. The youngest children are free at all shows and on the last performance Sunday is half price for children up to 16 years.
