The trail enables one to experience what the Norwegian resistance fighters had to endure the last night before they destroyed the equipment used in the final process necessary in producing "Heavy water" which was one of the ingredients necessary in the production of the Atom bomb.
The views along the valley are amazing, not matter what the weather is.
In summer, beautiful nature, the sound of water chuckling by and birds singing in the trees. In the winter it is the stillness which captures dreams and thoughts. This is why Footprint Guiding leads trips in both summer and winter.
The best trip is in winter, when the moon is full. The temperature sinks on the thermometer, and the snow creaks underfoot, your nose hairs stiffen with the frost and your heart beats with honor. "This is the same way they went – 9 men with one aim".
This is not for extreme people looking for a challenge, it is for you and me.
Your guide is a tough, retired commando who has become a little soft, romantic, and has been influenced of good people and of the Norwegian mountains. You can choose whether you want to go down to the valley floor and cross the river or take a shorter route over the bridge.
Guided tour every thursday and sunday from July 6th to August 13th.
