Based in Oslo, ARV delivers a powerful and uncompromising soundscape that draws its roots from metal, and seamlessly weaves in elements from hardcore and post-metal. The result is a sonic journey that balances raw intensity with deep, cinematic atmosphere.
The debut album Curse & Courage is a strong and honest release, where aggression, tempo shifts and powerful, soaring riffs create a soundscape that is both brutal and beautiful. Inspired by the Northern Norwegian heritage that several of the members carry with them – and by the unpleasant realities of today that we prefer to close our eyes to – ARV creates music that tears at both body and consciousness.
Recorded in Amper Tone and Nords Studio, and mixed and mastered by Ruben Willem, Curse & Courage is the result of several years of uncompromising creativity and focused work.
ARV has previously made a strong impression on stages such as Høstsabbat and Klubb-Øya, where they have shown an intense and suggestive live experience – the same feeling that is now captured on record.
With vocalist Frederik Hillestad (Kollwitz/ Reaping Flesh) at the front, and members from Jack Dalton and Day of the Jackalope at the back, ARV brings together solid experience and musical weight.
