Jonathan Roy

Canadian Jonathan Roy visits Oslo and Parkteatret on 19 May!

Inspired by musicians like John Mayer and Ray LaMontagne, Jonathan Roy's music is the kind that works just as well on days when you're full of energy and want to sing and dance with your friends, as on days when you're in the more melancholic and emotional corner.

After three albums, "What I've Become" (2009), "Found My Way" (2010) and "La Route" (2011), and a role in the popular French musical "Don Juan", Jonathan signed with Corey Hart's Siena Records for his album "Mr Optimist Blues" in 2017. The album topped the charts in Canada, and while grateful for its success, Jonathan wanted a less polished sound. That's when a life-changing idea struck him: He ended up making videos where he played stripped-down versions of new songs, including "Keeping Me Alive". The songs took off online, and Jonathan now has over 400,000 YouTube subscribers and over 50 million streams on Spotify alone.
