JOVAN PAVLOVIC-Accordion
MARIUS PREDA-Cimbalom
ROBERTINO MIHAI-Bass
Accordion, cimbalom and double bass in successful interaction. High-energy Balkan songs, well-known classical songs and fresh own compositions from a new Trøndelag/Serbian/Romanian power trio.
Serbian-Norwegian Jovan Pavlovic is one of the most sought-after accordionists in Europe today, with decades of musical collaborations behind him and a central role as a central musician and driving force in Trondheim's music scene.
Pavlovic has collaborated with, among others, Ivo Papasov, Petar Ralchev, Lelo Nika, Bojan Zulfikarpasic, Dzambo Agushev as well as Norwegian Farmers Market, Stian Carstensen, Marius Neset, Stephane Edouard, Øystein Dolmen and Frode Fjellheim. As an accordion soloist, Jovan has also delivered tasteful and virtuoso contributions with the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra & Opera, the Trondheim Soloists and the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra.
Few can master the cimbalom, a characteristic Eastern European string instrument, like Marius Preda. Marius has played with greats such as Arturo Sandoval, Mike Stern, John Patitucci, Dennis Chambers and Tom Kennedy. If anyone can make the strings sing on his instrument, it's Preda.
Belgium-based Robertino Mihai is a sought-after double bassist who juggles playing bass in a symphony orchestra with Balkan beats and jazz club jobs. It is a true pleasure when Mihai makes the large instrument vibrate and creates a rich, deep soundstage for the trio to unfold.
Here we get a potent mix of melodious and easily accessible songs, full of rhythm, improvisation and harmony with inspiration from the Balkans, Africa and Scandinavia. From vulnerable and simple to powerful and virtuoso – all delivered with large doses of empathy and fervor.
