Would you like to experience good old-fashioned Christmas spirit? Join us for the pre-Christmas weekend Jul Igjen on 6 and 7 December – imagine strolling around the museum; the smell of freshly cooked food, hearing Christmas music, greeting the barn gnome… and as dusk falls, warm light shines from every window and hundreds of torches are lit across the area.

Stiklestad National Cultural Centre, Restaurant Skalden, Borggården, the Folk Museum and the medieval farm Stiklastadir will be filled with delicious food, activities, music and festive cheer. There’s a large free Christmas market featuring local food, handicrafts and artisan products.

• Experience the slaughtering of the Christmas pig, demonstrations of traditional crafts, Christmas food preparations, freshly baked aniseed buns and an open Café Molåna.
• Children can join in whittling, candle dipping, potato cake baking, storytelling sessions, play with the barn gnomes and watch the family show Busy Girl and Barn Gnome Fun – and much more…
