Kampenjazz has established itself as one of the most significant jazz scenes in Oslo. The concerts take place every Sunday evening, in the beautiful former Methodist church at Grønland. The series features jazz of high international quality, and is known in particular for its showcasing of great young talents.
Through her project Lilja World Wide, guitarist Oddrun Lilja Jonsdottir has traveled around and played with musicians from different musical traditions. At Kampenjazz this evening, she presents her impressions and insights from these travels. Expect to hear the sound of Ethiopian cirkus performers, a Syrian-Palestinian musicians in a Lebanon refugee camp, evenings of trance music in Marocco and Indian raga concerts - among other things.
