This year's opening concert at the Oslo Jazz Festival celebrates the 50 year-long career of Norwegian pianist and composer Ketil Bjørnstad.
Bjørnstad moves seamlessly from classical to jazz and avant garde. He has released several albums, including on the ECM label, and sold more than half a million albums world-wide. Among his many fans we find the legendary filmmaker Jean Luc Godard, who has used Bjørnstad's music in several of his movies.
Bjørnstad will be accompanied by several notable guests on stage this evening.
