🎹🎸 Finally, we will hear Knut Reiersrud and Iver Kleive together as a duo for the first time in Nidaros Cathedral!

All the way back in 1991, the legendary album "Blå koral" was released. Since then, there have been six critically acclaimed albums with Knut Reiersrud and Iver Kleive, but all recorded in Denmark. During a few cold January nights earlier this year, they recorded their brand new recording "Vidunderligst av alt" in Nidaros Cathedral. The album will be released during Olavsfest and of course marked with a concert.
Expect cascades of organ sound and groovy blues guitar when we place two of the greatest personalities of Norwegian music in Nidaros Cathedral.

The repertoire on the new album reflects the fact that the recording was made in the national sanctuary, and leans all the way back to Gregorian chant and Olavs music, via Norwegian folk tunes to newer national treasures such as "Kringsatt av fiender". The release concert in Nidaros Cathedral will also feature gems from their previous albums, and we expect to be able to relive, among other things, the music that ended the Olympic opening in Lillehammer in 1994 – this time with cathedral sounds and on the country's largest organ.

Knut Reiersrud and Iver Kleive began their collaboration with the legendary release "Blå Koral" in 1991. It was followed by a series of releases in which the two have explored the interaction between church organ and guitar. The two have mostly dealt with the hymn repertoire, often the treasure trove of folk tunes, but have also created new material. In total, there have been four recordings: "Blå koral" (1991), "Himmelskip" (1996), "Nåde over nåde" (2006) and "Natt i desember" (2018). In addition, singer Povl Dissing participated in two albums in this series: "Den signede dag" (2000) and "Som den gyldne sol" (2013).
The recordings have so far been made in Danish cathedrals (Odense and Haderslev cathedrals). The ambition has been to find places with large, multi-faceted organs and with rich acoustics. The method has been to play on the possibilities for amplifying the guitar, so that both instruments can fill a large church room with great dynamics, from the most tender pianissimo to a lot of power and volume.

It has long been a dream to top this series with a recording with Iver and Knut in Nidaros Cathedral, which is perhaps the only church in Norway that in acoustics and organ format can compete with the Danish cathedrals. In Nidaros Cathedral, they can play on the contrast between large organ and distant work with a formidable depth effect, to an even greater extent than in the Danish cathedrals they have used so far.
