Jubilee for a beloved favourite.

When the album Kråkeviks songbok was released in the year 2000, with songs such as Den Fyrste Song og Blåmann, it became a huge success. Herborg Kråkevik was called Norway’s number one songbird, and was named Artist of the Year at the Spellemann (Norwegian Grammy Awards) with the reasoning 'Never has these Norwegian historic songs been interpreted in a finer way.' The new versions of songs by writers like Arnulf Øverland, Nordahl Grieg, and Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson were recorded with TrondheimSolistene and sold over 250,000 copies. 

– Not everything that is old is necessarily wilted and used up, she said to Stavanger Aftenblad when the album was released. 

Now Kråkevik, musical director Helge Lilletvedt and TrondheimSolistene will reunite for selected anniversary concerts, with the very first one taking place in Bergen at the Festival square – free and open to all. The audience will also be invited to sing along with over 100 chorists from children's choirs in Bergen. The musicians have started renewing their song book repertoire, so there might be new songs from the stage.
