Lávre // Langhuset

Register
Since the debut album "Vuložat" came out in March this year, both Øyafestivalen and Trænafestivalen have been visited by Lávre. During the midnight concert in Træna Kirke, the audience stood up and stomped Lávre in for the encore.

Lávre is a young Sami artist and musician from Kautokeino. His musical expression is strongly rooted in the Sami joike tradition. With the guitar and effect pedals, an atmospheric but down-to-earth soundscape is created, and the audience is invited to a journey through things that are often a bit hidden away under the surface, both for oneself and in Sami culture. The music is an exciting combination of joik, intuitive guitar playing and lyrics that are based on the rich metaphorical lyrics found in old joiks.

Stretching across genres and generations, Lávre balances tradition with innovation in his debut album "Vuložat", which roughly translates to "Those or what lives under". The album is a collection of songs with both traditional joik and contemporary joik.
"Vuložat" is the result of many years of inner work, and reflects the beginning of a deep dive into Lávre's own personal mythology and the historical origins of the Sami people.
