Solo concert with Leif Ove Andsnes
It would be no exaggeration to describe Leif Ole Andsnes as the Norwegian musician with greatest international appeal. Doors open to him at concert halls the worlds over, and the great orchestras of the world want him as a soloist. The New York Times has described Andsnes as "a pianist of authoritative elegance, power and understanding".
To the Opera, he brings a programme of selected piano pieces by Schumann, Janáček and Bartók.
Robert Schumann: Three Romances, op. 28, Carneval, op. 9
Leoš Janáček: On an Overgrown Path
Béla Bartók: Three Burlesques
