Galleri Norske Grafikere presents the exhibition Fourteen monotypes and a white book by the Norwegian printmaker Magne Vangsnes. The works on display are taken from Vangsnes' artistic production over the last three years.
Vangsnes' inspiration lies in Spanish modernism, and in particular the city of Barcelona, with its dramatic history and traces of lived life, is an important source for the works on display. The architecture and colours in the city, from the darkest of the dark to the lightest of the light, are expressed in monumental monotypes. Vangsnes also shows a white book. By utilizing finely crushed marble, he makes the white appearing white, while simultaneously facilitating the experience of an expression.
