Come on an atmospheric Christmas visit to Maihaugen between 26 and 30 December! Here you may join a guided tour of historic homes decorated for Christmas, or stroll around the open-air museum and look into the open houses on your own.

On a walk through the museum, you can visit Øygarden and experience the peaceful Christmas time of the 1890s. You can also take a trip to the 1950s house and play your favorite Christmas songs on the jukebox, or visit Mrs Bye, who in 1945 can finally celebrate Christmas again in peacetime.

Join us on guided tours of Christmas-decorated houses in Bygda, in Byen and Boligfeltet. On the tour Home for the Holidays, we visit Queen Sonja's childhood home, which is decorated for Christmas in the year 1960. We promise that you will find back to the good Christmas atmosphere from the olden days!
