Mall Girl

​Playful, bubbly indie pop.

The four musicians in Mall Girl play a peppy version of pop and indie, and the result is a new genre they themselves have named math-pop.

Last year saw the release of their debut album, which was eagerly awaited by many critics after a much-reviewed concert at the Øya Festival two years earlier. The album Superstar delivered as expected, placing the band in the top tier among Norwegian indie bands. International attention is predicted as they now work on their second album.

The music is choppy, dreamy, and childlike and feels as if specially written for long summer evenings. Mall Girl has received much praise for solid live shows and has played at the Roskilde festival, among others. With songs overflowing with energetic and creative excess and catchy, warm vocal melodies, this remarkable band is ready to perform on the free stage at the Festival Square.
