Since Marie Sahba released her debut single "Take Me Back" in 2019, she has grown to become one of the country's most exciting artists. In February 2024, she released the long-awaited debut album "A Billion Years Too Soon". Dagsavisen rolled a five on the die
and referred to the debut as "One of the spring's best Norwegian albums".
"We suspect that this may become a small sensation", wrote Dagsavisen about "A Billion Years Too Soon" and highlighted the album as one of the most promising for 2024 ahead of the album's release.
Through the album's nine tracks, listeners are invited into Marie's unique musical universe where she seamlessly weaves her cultural heritage together with a modern, electronic expression.

The debut album "A Billion Years Too Soon" was written and produced together with Martin Vinje, known for his work with Sigrid and Neon Ion. Together they have created a unique musical universe of melancholy, traditional instruments, beautiful melodies and atmospheric synths firmly rooted in a danceable club landscape. The personal texts in both English and Azerbaijani, spoken in northern Iran, tell the story of Marie's roots, loss and life's
wave valleys. Marie Sahba rounds off the album year with a deluxe version of the album and the single 'Milyard Il', which will be released on Friday 16 August before she embarks on a release tour in Norway, Turkey and
Azerbaijan in the fall of 2024.
