Welcome to an atmospheric Christmas concert with Embla.

We have brought out Christmas songs from the good old days: Some have been arranged a long time ago, and others have been given a new look. Most of the songs are taken from the Christmas album we released last year, and in addition we have some new exciting arrangements!

Embla was originally built up from the singing community around what is today musicology at the Department of Music, NTNU in Trondheim.

The name is taken from Norse mythology, where Embla was the first woman on earth. She is associated with creativity, quality and artistic growth – qualities we want to stand for.

Embla is an active choir with many projects. Musically, we are characterized first and foremost by a homogeneous and beautiful sound. This is a result of the conductor's tireless work and focus.

The choir's repertoire ranges from folk tunes to new Norwegian music. One of Embla's areas of focus is to spread new women's choir music, which is why we have had many composers write for us.
