Minor Majority
In January, Reasons to Hang Around turns 20, and Minor Majority is celebrating with an anniversary tour where they’ll perform the album in its entirety.
The concert will be divided into two parts: first, the band will play the full album, followed by selected songs from the rest of their career. Reasons to Hang Around received glowing reviews when it was released in January 2006. The album debuted at number two on the Norwegian charts, went gold, and produced four major radio hits: Let the Night Begin, Come Back to Me, Supergirl, and Alison. The opening track, Wish You’d Hold That Smile, also became a surprise hit on French radio, earning the band a loyal following in France. By late 2006, the album appeared on several “best of the year” lists in the music press, and in 2007 it won a Spellemann Award for “Best Pop Group.”
Vocalist and songwriter Pål Angelskår says: “Reasons to Hang Around is perhaps our strongest collection of songs and without a doubt our most far-reaching album. We’re grateful to have a record in our catalogue that continues to draw both old and new listeners into our world — and allows us to keep touring and playing concerts at home and across Europe.”
