In cooperation with Platou Sport, Rogaland Aktiv as arranges a very special randonee weekend in Sirdal. This will be a great off pist weekend with top instructors and skiers. The motto this weekend: If you fall a lot, you will be best
The word randonee is French and means "going on a hike". And that's exactly what it's all about. You go skiing and then go back for dinner. In Norway, we have been doing this for years already, on our feets, on snowshoes, ski made of wood, cross country skiing, mountain skiing, telemark skiing, and now, randonee. This is a weekend for those who want to get started with randonee, or just want to learn about downhill skiing in the mountain. You do not need to have experience from the summit, but you must have some experience from offpist skiing.
Tuesday (2-3 hours)
In front of the weekend we meet in the Platou shop for a few hours with theoretical lessons. The contents will be about avalanche, equipment, snow and snowprofiles and much more.
Platou sport have a skidemo in Ålsheia. The shop bring a lot of randoski, find your dreamski or try several types. Can you feel the difference?
We will meet outside the Sirdal høyfjellshotell at 09.00. There will be some basic instruction before we enter the mountain. While entering the mountain, there will be practical exercises, and of course, some heavy skiing off piste.
Are you ready, hang on! Today it is it, you are professional randoskiers. The guide, who will be world champion in Telemark 2007 and winner of Stavanger freeride in 2013 will show you the best leg. Again, if you fall a lot, you will be best!
Participant must bring:
Ski: Randonee, robust mountain skis or Telemark-skis
Avalanche transceiver (can be rented)
Helmet, ski goggles
