Symphony No. 41, "Jupiter"
In tonight's concert we offer a collection of beautiful Mozart arias in two acts with his magnificent Jupiter Symphony.
Mozart's many operas contain a wealth of beautiful and stunning arias. Here we present a delicate selection interspersed with an aria only for the concert stage, which will literally make you melt in your seat.
The Jupiter Symphony, Symphony No. 41, is Mozart's very last, and a sparkling crowning achievement! The symphony is both powerful and elegant, grandiose and soft, and deeply emotional – an otherworldly symphonic sortie.
The concert begins with Mozart's contemporary, Marianna Martines, and her somewhat ingenious overture, full of lively melodies and jubilant joie de vivre.
