Musth / Yawn

Barely a decade ago, the cult band Musth ravaged scenes at home and abroad. With a foot in almost all musical landscapes and energy enough to run from Bladerunner, Musth smashed both stage floors and established genre ideas. Metal was the basic element, but the list of absurd alloys was as long as it was unpredictable. A fact that audiences both here at home and around the world got to hone in on via their debut album "Noise Machine" and on countless brain-melting live shows. 8 years later, Musth is back, now with a new bassist, new vocalist and brand new songs. Metal is still the basic element, but the genre suitcase has grown even bigger, even a little denser and increasingly unpredictable. With a new drive and a fine-tuned (noise) machinery, Musth anno 2021 is something you do not want to miss.

Yawn is a band consisting of five members from Norway, Sweden and Canada. With influences from bands such as Meshuggah, Car Bomb the band derives most of its aesthetics from modern progressive metal with cutting 8-string guitars, explosive drums and advanced rhythmic concepts. The songwriting presents the parameters of jazz in a landscape of open forms with free improvisation, themes that develop harmoniously, rhythmically and melodically, and improvisation as a fundamental cornerstone.
