On Christmas Eve, two children travel to an enchanted kingdom filled with candy in which their toys come magically to life. This is the Christmas ballet that many of us can't do without - that has been enchanting audiences around the world during the festive period for over 120 years. What is it about Tchaikovsky's music for The Nutcracker that has proved so enduring? Is it the magical Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy or the imposing music for the giant Christmas Tree? What's certain is that Tchaikovsky's magical, awesome music perfectly combines with dance to bring an enchanting story to life. Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without Tchaikovsky's ballet, danced here in choreography made for Bergens Kulturskole by Evgenij Scherbakov, with the sumptuous musical upholstery of the full orchestral score played by the Bergen Philharmonic Youth Orchestra under Kjell Seim. Dancers from Bergen Kulturskole Marcello Raciti - direction & choreography Developed and og choreographed by Evgenij Scherbakov for Bergen kulturskole Bergen Philharmonic Youth Orchestra Kjell Seim - conductor Peter Tchaikovsky - The Nutcracker, ballet in two acts
