The nomadic art project SALT aims to bring art, music, food and architecture together in unprecedented surroundings: four wooden constructions inspired by the traditional Norwegian racks for drying fish. The constructions are located at the harbour vis-a-vis the Opera.
On Tuesdays, SALT hosts concerts with talented Scandinavian singer-songwriters.
Whenever you tuned into a Norwegian radio station in 1997, it was almost certain you would hear "Jeg vil bare ha en mann" (I Just Want a Man) by the band Unge Frustrete Menn (Young Frustrated Men). The band's singer was Eduardo "Doddo" Andersen. In 2002 Unge Frustrerte Menn died a quiet death, but not Doddo. He wrote books, produced shows, and wrote some thousand blogs about football in Bergens Tidende.
The only thing he hasn't done since 2000 is to make music - and that is actually quite strange, since it was him who composed all the songs for Unge Frustrerte Menn. Now he is back with a solo album entitled "La oss ta en idealist". Eight songs that are unmistakably Doddo but still different. The songs are much more quiet than before, less rocky and with fewer jazz chords, the music of a grown man, somewhere at the intersection of pop, folk and Americana.
