Norwegian Soloists' Choir - Poulenc's mass in G major

Overview

21 October, Margaretakyrkan: Experience on of the last century's most important choral works.

Concert with the Norwegian Soloists' Choir and conductor Kjetil Almenning in Margaretakyrkan, the Swedish church in Oslo.

The concert's main work is Francis Poulenc's Mass in G major from 1937, one of the last century's most important choir works. Poulenc dedicated the mass to the memory of his father, who passed away a few years before it was written. The music is expressive and varied, with etheral sopranos, tight timbres and dramatic chromatics. You'll also get to hear music by MacMillan and Britten this evening.

Programme
James MacMillan: Miserere
Francis Poulenc:  Mass in G major
Benjamin Britten:  A.M.D.G.
James MacMillan: Te Deum
