Welcome to a melodious concert of Norwegian contemporary music!
Akademisk korforening (The Academic Choir Association) and the Oslo kammerorkester (Oslo Chamber Orchestra) fill the University hall for a spring concert with works by three living Norwegian composers: Ola Gjeilo, Kim André Arnesen and Terje Bjørklund. It is guaranteed to be an atmospheric experience.
Together we perform Ola Gjeilo's "Sunrise Mass", a warm and dramatic work in four movements which, with its accessibility, evokes associations with film music.
The choir sings four songs by Kim André Arnesen a capella. There are "Even when he is silent", "Norwegian alleluia", "Lamb" and "Child of song". Like Ola Gjeilo, Arnesen's expressive works are sung by choirs all over the world.
The orchestra, under the direction of concertmaster Inga Mathilde Gorset, performs Terje Bjørklund's composition "Sarek". The lyrical work has been referred to as an updated edition of Edvard Grieg's unmistakable tones.
Conductor is Gjermund Bjørklund.
