Nuart’s Street Art Walking Tour takes you through 15 years of Nuart Festival’s impressive Street Art history and the evolution of Stavanger into one of the world’s leading destinations for Street Art.
Street art is without doubt the most exciting development in visual art for decades: a movement that has caught the imagination of many and continues to enrich our cities. Learn about the roots of the movement - from Situationism and graffiti to stencil art and muralism - and take in work from an array of world-leading street artists operating across the spectrum of Street Art. Artists include the likes of Dabs Myla, Dan Witz, David Choe, Dolk, DotDotDot, Eine, Ella & Pitr, Evol, Faith 47, Hush, Isaac Cordal, Levalet, Logan Hicks, Martin Whatson, Neils Shoe Meulman, Nick Walker, Pure Evil, Pøbel, Roa, Swoon, Vhils and many more…
Our friendly tour guide will take you on a 90-minute walk around Stavanger city centre that takes in smaller hidden art works and talking points of previous Nuart Festival’s as well as grandstand murals.
Nuart hosts an annual festival platform for national and international artists who operate outside of the traditional art establishment. Every September, a team of internationally acclaimed street artists leave their mark on the city's walls, both indoor and out, continuing one of Europe's most dynamic and constantly evolving public art events. The work produced at Nuart Festival stimulates debate by challenging entrenched notions of what art is - and more importantly, what it can be.
The 2016 Nuart Festival will run from 8 – 11 September. Don’t miss it!
During the festival, we will be running additional walking tours, focusing only on the works installed in 2016.
