Music is a language that transcends time and space. Many people would think that there are strict boundaries between folk music from different traditions, but also towards classical music. In this project, Oluf Dimitri Røe, with many years of experience in international folk music, but also classical schooling, has attempted to blur these dividing lines. Imagine if Bach went to Bucharest and heard the Lautar music, how would his double concerto in D minor sound? And how would a fiddle player from the island of Mykonos sound when meeting an Afghan classical singer and instrumentalist? This musical landscape is explored by Oluf Dimitri Røe on fiddle, vocals and sabouna together with a bouquet of eminent musicians from different cultures and perspectives, Ishan Momand on vocals, rabab and harmonium, Udi Shlomo on drums and percussion and Tarald Kongshaug on double bass. This will be world music with a lot of improvisation that speaks to the emotions and can lift the roof!
