On Friday, January 23rd, we invite you again to an open microphone in Vår Frue - öppen kirke. A tradition that has offered countless surprises and touching moments. The evening starts at 6 pm with a guest artist playing a set, followed by a short break before the microphone is open to everyone.

This time we will hear Dr. Bekken (Tor Einar Bekken)!

Dr. Bekken is a prominent figure in Norwegian blues and jazz life. Since the late 1980s, he has thrilled audiences as a pianist, composer and communicator, with a distinctive expression rooted in the New Orleans tradition, mixed with blues, jazz, boogie woogie and Norwegian folk tunes.

He has played on major stages and festivals in Norway and Europe, collaborated with legends such as Eddie Bo and Marva Wright, and jammed with Allen Toussaint. With a Spellemann nomination, the Notodden Blues Festival's Blues Prize and a rare ability to convey the history of music, Dr. Bekken is a performer in a special class – both behind the piano and between the songs.
