Opening: Gjenfortryllet
Tick the calendar; on Saturday 7 October, Nordenfjeldske Kunstindustrimuseum can finally invite you to the exhibition Gjenfortryllet! This exhibition is dedicated to those who have missed the collection while the museum building has been closed - and to those who want to get to know the museum. The theme of Gjenfortryllet is based on the time when the museum was established (1893), and the art nouveau style movement, and puts it in the context of contemporary handicrafts. At TKM Gråmølna, you will be able to see both old classics and brand new purchases that have not previously been exhibited! NKIM's collection is diverse, and the exhibition gives us an exciting selection of costumes, textiles, jewelery, furniture, ceramics, wallpaper samples and installations.Time: Saturday 7 October at 1 p.mLocation: TKM Gråmølna, Trenerys gate 9Programme: Opening speeches, refreshments, performance by Ahmed Umar and creative workshop (suitable for children).Gjenfortryllet = Re-enchantedThe title gjenfortryllet is a translation of the English term re-enchantment. Max Weber (1864–1920), social scientist, described in 1918 how Western society has become disenchanted, bureaucratized and secularized. The world is no longer the great, "enchanted garden" he attributed to premodern society's perceptions of reality. Or as it is so beautifully worded in 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘙𝘦-𝘌𝘯𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘥𝘢𝘺 𝘓𝘪𝘧𝘦 (1996) by Thomas Moore: (...) “a reawakening to the depth of soul that embraces us and the world”.TKM Gråmølna is open 12.00 - 16.00 this Saturday. You are most welcome!
