Join us as we officially kick off Martnan 2025 with a festive ceremony right in the heart of Trondheim’s city square! Expect a program with music, magic, and celebration.

Jernbanens Musikkorps will open the festivities with cheerful and summery muscpieces. Illusionist Christian Wedøy will amaze audiences of all ages with some magical moments – and share a few words from the stage afterwards. We’ll also hear a bit about what to expect during this year’s Martnan, and Line Fjørstad, City Commissioner for Environment, Business and Transport in Trondheim Municipality, will have the honor of officially declaring Martnan 2025 open!

Martnan in Trondheim is a festive market with roots dating back to the 18th century. Today, it serves as a vibrant meeting place for culture, trade, and experiences in the heart of the city. For four days, the square will be filled with market stalls, crafts, local food, activities, and entertainment for the whole family. It's where tradition and modern life meet – offering something for both locals and visitors to enjoy.
