Ever since Verdi's opera La Traviata premiered in 1853, it has attracted attention. This was the first time a "fallen" woman had been portrayed on stage. The gripping love story and the beautiful music in La traviata, has made this opera one of the world's most popular and most performed - even today.
In this abridged version, the focus is on the relationship between Violetta and Alfredo and the strict and moralistic Giorgio Germont, Alfredo's father who at all costs wants to avoid scandal and shame for himself and his family.
