14 October, Universitetety Aula: The grandest version of Mozart's masterwork that Norway has seen in many years
Mozart's Requiem is one of the most mythical works in music history - as well as the most admired. Commissioned by an anonymous person, performed by his loved ones around his sickbed, uncompleted when he passed away after sketching "Lacrimosa" and with the details regarding the completion of the work left unclear.
The University of Oslo's official male and female choirs now join forces for what is probably the biggest performance of Mozart's masterwork that has been presented in Norway in many years. Both choirs figure among the top ensembles in Scandinavia in their respective categories. They will be accompanied by an orchestra comprised of top-notch musicians and conductor Marit Tøndel Bodsberg.
