Plaza, from the Norwegian rap phenomena Undergrunn, explores his Brazilian roots.

Gabriel "Plaza" Doria debuted as an artist in 2017 with Undergrunn. The rap group experienced a huge breakthrough with the album Undergrunn in 2022, where hits such as "Italia" and "Medisin" made them one of Norway's biggest bands. Since then they have only grown, with concerts in Oslo Spektrum and receiving the award as Spellman of the Year for 2023 as some natural career highlights. It has also created fertile ground for fruitful solo efforts, and in the winter of 2023 Plaza became the third member to release music under his own name, with the debut album Plaza O Plomo.

On this album, Gabriel "Plaza" Doria explores his roots in Brazil. To get inspiration, he took Underground producer Rik Pappa and parts of his team to the country, where they recorded parts of the album. During the songs on Plaza O Plomo, we encounter sounds from the favela in Rio De Janeiro and lyrics inspired by a long-awaited visit to Plaza's Brazilian family. Before the summer of 2023, he released the single "Her og der" about his busy lifestyle as a 21-year-old, he played the song live for the first time on the VG list for 50,000 people that same summer and in early summer he released his newest single, "Røde Rubin ”. A Brazilian wind is blowing over the Norwegian music landscape on several fronts at the moment.
