We are entering the pre-Christmas season. It is advent, a time for contemplation where we prepare for the celebration to come. It is also a time to remind each other of how fortunate we are to be living in a peaceful part of the world.

The message of Christmas is one of love, of compassion, and of care. It is about peace between all.

When David Bowie and Bing Crosby met in 1977, they recorded an iconic Christmas song. «Little Drummer Boy» and «Peace on Earth» were merged together into a perfect duet. The lyrics for «Peace on earth» had been written on that same day, as a commentary to the ongoing conflicts of the time. The song was relevant now, as it is relevant now, as we once again live in a time of unrest, uncertainty and war.

The male choir Guldbergs will perform this song as well as many other Christmas carols, accompanied by several acclaimed musicians, and led by conductor Sigurd Engenes. The aim is to reflect on the time we live in, and on the value of peace.

Guldberg also wishes to show their support to Kirkens Bymisjon (Church City Mission) for their important efforts to create a warmer society for so many people.
