Overview

The 2021 Peace Prize Exhibition portrays journalists Maria Ressa and Dmitry Muratov, who've jointly received the Nobel Peace Prize for their efforts for freedom of expression.

The exhibition shows how journalists risk theis life and safety in their fight against abuse of power and false news, in a world where truth, trust and democracy are at stake.

On display are two completely new documentary photo series commissioned by the Nobel Peace Center in Russia and the Philippines in October and November 2021. Nanna Heitmann has photographed Dmitry Muratov and his editorial staff at Novaya Gazeta. She has also met young, independent journalists in Russia. Hannah Reyes Morales has portrayed Maria Ressa and created a photo series on the role of social media in the Philippines.
