Perennial Climate-appropriate Food Plants for urban areas
On September 28, Stephen Barstow, author of the book Around The World in 80 Plants and owner of Malvik's Edible Garden, will come to teach us about perennial edible plants in an urban context.Do you have a window sill, backyard, pallet frame, bus shed, allotment garden, field, roof or flower pot that you would like to plant with perennial bulb plants, cabbage plants, edible flowers and perennials (did you know that the world's most popular ornamental plants Hosta and Daylilies are edible?) or exotic plants such as Udo, then this is for you. We'll also be looking at some of Stephen's favorite wild food plants!Learn and be inspired on the course, then you can use your new knowledge to obtain seeds and plants and plan your new projects through the winter, perhaps through KVANN (Norwegian Seed Savers) where Stephen is plant specialist manager and join us at Væres Felleshagen at Ranheim and "learn by doing""Participation is free! The event is held during Økouka 2023, and is supported by Trondheim Municipality.
