Peter Perrett is a living cult legend, known as the frontman of the iconic band The Only Ones and for his distinctive solo career. With songs like “Another Girl, Another Planet”, he etched his name into music history in the late ’70s and has since inspired generations of artists.

After a long period marked by withdrawal and personal challenges, Perrett made a formidable comeback with the critically acclaimed solo albums How The West Was Won (2017) and Humanworld (2019). Now, at the age of 73, he is more vital than ever – returning with the ambitious double album The Cleansing, a 20-track collection that reaffirms his position as one of rock’s most distinctive voices.

The Cleansing, released in November 2024 to rapturous reviews, presents a revitalised Perrett in top form, flanked by his sons Jamie (guitar/production) and Peter Jr. (bass), as well as guest appearances from Johnny Marr, Bobby Gillespie, and Carlos O’Connell (Fontaines D.C.). The album blends Perrett’s trademark languid vocals and sharp lyrics with a broader musical palette, offering reflections on love, ageing, and the fragility of life.
