Overview

Double piano bliss: What could be more powerful than a grand piano at the fingers of an exceptional concert pianist? The sound of two grand pianos at the same time, of course!

There is not a great deal of music that has been composed for two grand pianos. But my goodness, how powerful it sounds when you put two of those grand-daddies of acoustic musical instruments together!

The exciting Norwegian pianists Joachim Carr and Mathias Halvorsen have picked out some of the most demanding works ever written for this kind of arrangement. They have also selected music that in various ways has been inspired by dance and movement.

Accompanying them is a light show, designed by Harald Lie, that comments on and reflects the dancing and transparent nature of the music.
