PRAXIS with Bence Molnar - Zero Point Technique
Welcome to PRAXIS Workshop with Bence Molnar - Zero Point Technique
Saturday 20.09.2025 at 11-3 pm at DansiT, Svartlamon, Strandveien 33, Trondheim.
About the workshop: The zero point technique workshop. For professional and amateur performing artists, and for everyone who would like to learn a simple but effective technique that helps both the audience to follow and enjoy the action on stage, and the performer to deepen their actions and presence. The workshop is in English.
Scenic action is at its purest when you do one thing at a time and focus all your attention on that one thing. Like, for example, small children playing with a teddy bear: The whole world around them disappears, for them only the teddy bear exists. And the moment they see a more interesting toy, the teddy bear disappears too, and they just play with the new toy. The moment when we move from action A to action B is called the changing point. The zero point technique is nothing more than taking a 2-3 second technical break at the changing point.
In the first half of our playful workshop, we will have improvisational exercises where we can first try and then become aware of how to organically get to different actions using the changing points, and how to strengthen our presence in the process. We will then add the zero point technique to these exercises and see what effect this technique has. Finally, we will look at how we can apply this technique to short verbal scenes as well.
