All bodies are welcome and most of the explorations and exercises lend themselves to be adapted to different bodies and needs. PRAXIS with Heidi Rustgaard - Sitting Scores (DansiT residency artist)

About the classes: Join us for a somatic and choreographic workshop drawing on Heidi Rustgaard's ongoing research into durational performance, listening practices, and her One-Note concept, where the singular transforms into the plural. 
In this session, participants will explore Sitting Scores, a poetic and embodied choreographic practice that unfolds entirely from the act of sitting. Beginning with simple, everyday movements, we will collectively develop a movement score grounded in stillness, presence, and attentiveness.
As we sit together, side by side, apart, in between, we will explore sitting both as an action and a metaphor: sitting with the moment, sitting through discomfort, sitting beside others, sitting as a witness, and sitting with sound and place.
The workshop includes guided explorations in stillness and everyday movement, individual and collective listening practices, as well as opportunities for writing and reflection. Together, we'll investigate how minimal, attentive actions can generate rich choreographic material and reveal new insights into how we relate to others, to space, and to time through the seemingly simple act of sitting.

Sitting Scores - Led by choreographer Heidi Rustgaard of H2DANCE is open to dancers, movers, performers, and anyone interested in embodied awareness and the choreographic process. No previous dance experience is required.

Bio: Heidi Rustgaard is a choreographer, curator, performer, and researcher exploring expanded choreography through queering structures, sound, and object relations. Co-director of H2DANCE and Fest en Fest, a festival of expanded choreography. She teaches at Trinity Laban and Roehampton and is currently in the artist cohort at Rose Choreographic School at Sadler's Wells, London.
