PRAXIS workshop with Ken Bruun - Dance and let go

Welcome to our PRAXIS workshops in autumn 2024 for performing artists, people with movement experience and everyone interested in movements.

PRAXIS Workshop with Ken Bruun
Dance and let go - a dance practice where sharing is caring and nothing is wrong
Saturday 19.10.2024 at 11-15 at DansiT, Svartlamon, Strandvegen 33, Trondheim

My artistic practice, in meeting with others, is primarily about sharing experiences,
share dance history, art history, share interests and try to create a space where everyone can be with shaping a workshop they can feel ownership of. I am concerned with micro and macro trauma within the art field of dance. The workshop offers sensory and practical alternatives to known and minor "traumas within dance".
We can work our ass off, without losing our ass.
Or?

Bio: Ken Bruun (he/him/his)
Ken is from Inderøy and is a dance artist with strong roots in modern dance techniques and contemporary dance techniques. He has his education from London contemporary dance school and Amsterdam university of the arts. After graduating, Ken has worked as a performing dance artist in various Nordic dance groups, constellations and projects such as;
Danish Dance Theatre, Skåne Dance Theater, Cullberg Ballet, Helsinki Dance Company, K.
Kvarnström & Co., Anna & Co., Gunnilla Heilborn, Bjørn Säfsten, FORSworks, Helena Franzen, Lisa Riisu, Marie Topp, Rachel Tess, Mirko Guido and others.
Ken teaches contemporary dance technique, improvisation and composition.
After an artistic process with Benoit Lachambre (FR/CA) in 2010, he started, to a greater extent, to explore the sentient body. Kenneth has for several years worked with a physical
artistic practice, alone or together with others, where dance, choreography, space, poetry,
music, photography and visual art are juxtaposed practices based on the sensing body, in order to create movement, or to move.
