The duo Queendom celebrates its 20th anniversary at Riksscenen with a release party for their new album MamaLove.  They've dubbed their music 'Africana'. As in its sister genre Americana, the music is a mix of traditional and urban styles. They get their inspiration from the African continent, mixing it with elements from European and American music.

Queendom is known for its energetic and engaging live concerts, and has played in Norway and abroad for two decades. Their new album signals a change in mood, with percussion-based compositions and strongly political lyrcis that are accompanied by strings – from West African ngoni to electric and acoustic guitars.

Monica Ifejilika and Asta Busingye Lydersen – vocals, Øystein Bergsvik – drums, Sidiki Camara – percussion, Kristina Moen – bass, Eivind Molden Norseng – guitar, Andre Viervoll – keys
