In the winter of 2019, Rakel Sivertsen from Hommelvik was diagnosed with breast cancer with spread to the lymph nodes. After a bone-chilling battle, she recovered in 2021, but in the late autumn of 2022 the unthinkable happened: The cancer was on a full return, and this time incurable.

In the performance Hospital shirt, Rakel uses her own experiences to tell what it is like to be in the middle of a life crisis - in the middle of life - with a solid dose of humour. Can you laugh at a cancer diagnosis? Can you laugh it off again? Is it even allowed to laugh at something so serious? What do you need from the outside world when you don't fix your own everyday life? What can you do for someone who is in a life crisis? Can pain, bad odds and dark moments be fought with humour?

This performance is a journey through the entire range of emotions, and Rakel's unique ability to communicate means that one second you will be wiping away tears, and the next you will potentially break your ribs laughing. On 12 November 2024, you will leave Olavshallen a little richer in your mind and even warmer in your heart than you were when you entered.
