Rocío Molina from Spain figures among the world's foremost experimental flamenco dancers, still deeply rooted in traditions. She spellbinds audiences all over the world with her sublime art, her technical force and incredible energy. She present flamenco in its purest form: a passionate and captivating expression for freedom. Caída del Cielo translates to 'fallen down from the sky'. The artists utilises both masculine and feminine, even animalistic, expressions to create a performance that most of all is about being a woman. With the body at the centre, we see falls without the possibility of retreat and revival, a physically speaking exhausting journey from shadow to light, from silence to noise, from order to chaos.
Choreography, artistic and musical direction: Rocío Molina Dance: Rocío Molina Guitar: Eduardo Trassierra Song, electric bass: José Ángel Carmona Clapping, rhythms and percussions: José Manuel Ramos "Oruco" Drums, percussion, electronics: Pablo Martín Jones The performance is part of the 2017 CODA Oslo International Dance Festival.
