Anneli Drecker and Nils Johansen come to Rockheim to talk about songwriting and early computers!

We have received Bel Canto's first music computers from the 80s, and will hear about how these have helped to shape Bel Canto's expression and songwriting. We dive into one of their songs. How much of their personality, background and values can we find traces of in the song?

Bel Canto is one of the artists to be inducted into this year's Rockheim Hall of Fame. With a distinctive soundscape characterized by synthesizers, programming and Drecker's unique vocal expression, Bel Canto quickly attracted international interest. They had their commercial breakthrough with their third album "Shimmering, Warm and Bright" in 1992. Throughout their career, they have been in constant musical development. Both together and individually, the group contributed to the development of several genres in Norwegian popular music, and as role models they laid the foundation stone for the Norwegian electronica adventure.
