Everyone knows the story of Ronja! The robber's daughter grows up in Mattisborgen, where her father is the leader of a band of robbers. On the same night Ronja is born, the castle is split in two by a lightning strike, and in the part of the castle that the Mattis family does not use, another band of robbers moves in. The problems start for Ronja when she becomes best friends with Birk, the son of Borka, the leader of the other band of robbers. Their fathers refuse them to be together, so Birk and Ronja run away from home and into the forest together. In the forest, they meet many strange creatures: Greed dwarves, wildlings, dark trolls, and many kinds of animals. Here we are drawn into exciting stories, sorrow, joy and wonderful dance performances. And – as always – love wins in the end.

It is "Pippi Longstocking's mother", Astrid Lindgren, who wrote Ronja Røver-datter, which is considered one of her greatest fairy tales. The story has now turned into a brand new Norwegian family musical with lyrics by Hans Petter Thøgersen and music by the hit-maker Svein Gundersen ("Let the fire light", "Have a dream", "Ei hand å holde i"). Singer and actress Ingeborg Walther plays the role of Ronja. Birk is played by dancer and actor Kevin Haugan, known to many as "Pil" in NRK's Christmas calendar "Snøfall".

The performance will now go on its very first Norwegian tour, with its premiere in Olavshallen in Trondheim before it will be played in all major Norwegian cities during the winter.
